A raw foodist eats heat-processed foods that haven’t been heated above 118°C. If you are looking to incorporate more raw food into your daily routine or following a raw food diet, try these healthy and very tasty raw food recipes:

1. Festive pomegranate slaw

It is a simple salad, yet so good. Thanks to all of the ingredients, it is so tasty, but also very healthy and detoxifying. And besides all this, it is so easy to make!

Ingredients:

– 1/2 shredded head red cabbage
– 3 scallions, thinly sliced
– 1/5 cup chopped fresh parsley
– 1/3 cup pomegranate seeds
– 1/3 cup dried cranberries

Dressing

– 3 tbsp lemon juice
– 3 tbsp orange juice
– 3 tsp each orange and lemon zest
– 2 tbsp maple syrup
– 3 tbsp olive oil
– Salt to taste

Instructions:

In a large bowl, place all ingredients, and toss to evenly coat the vegetables with the dressing. Serve!

2. Raw lime pie

Add a bright burst of refreshing sweet-tart citrus to your holiday dessert plans with this lime and creamy cheesecake pie. The ingredients are just as refreshing as the taste.

Ingredients:

Filling

– 4 limes, zest, and juice
– 1 cup raw cashews, soaked
– 0.2 cup coconut oil
– 1/2 avocado
– 0.1 cup agave syrup
– 0.8 cup hazelnuts
– 0.6 cup dates, soaked
– 1 lime for garnish

Instructions:

Mix hazelnuts and dates in a blender until smooth. Place the dough in a pie dish and let sit in the fridge for 1 hour. Heat the coconut oil carefully until melted. Place the cashews in a blender with avocado, coconut oil, agave syrup and the juice and zest of the limes, and mix until smooth. Pour the filling evenly into the crust and put it in the fridge for 2 hours. Garnish with sliced lime. Enjoy.

3. Chia bread, raw food bread

Chia seed is a very exciting seed. Their nutritional value surpasses that of any other seed. It has eight times more omega three than salmon.

Ingredients:

– 400 g golden flax seeds
– 250 g celery
– 150 g chia seeds
– 150 g tomatoes
– 150 g almonds
– 70 g buckwheat
– 40 g basil
– 1 red pepper
– 3 sundried tomatoes

Instructions:

Grind the flax seeds to flour using a high-powered blender. When done, add all the rest of ingredients to wet jug, and put the flour in from the dry jug. Blend all until smooth. Turn out onto a lined dehydrator sheet and form a loaf or small rolls and dehydrate at 115°F/46°C for 4 hours.

4. Raw cucumber soup

This is a lovely warm and filling soup. It keeps for 2 days in the fridge in a sealed container.

Ingredients:

– 400 ml water, heated but not boiled
– 80g shelled hemp seeds
– 1 cucumber
– 1 avocado
– 1 red pepper
– 1 small tomato
– 1 celery stalk
– 1 clove of garlic
– 12 small red onions
– 10 ml olive oil

Instructions:

Stone and skin the avocado and put all the ingredients into your high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Serve in 2 big bowls and sprinkle with some extra oil. Bon appétit.

5. Hemp pesto, raw food pesto

This is a really flavorsome pesto that all seem to love mixed in with mild leaves. If you cover the top with oil, you can extend its life.

Ingredients:

– 50 g basil
– 50 g parsley
– 70 g raw pine nuts
– 70 g hemp seeds
– 70 g raw macadamia nuts
– 50 ml olive oil
– 5 g salt
– 1 clove of garlic

Instructions:

Add everything except the oil to a food processor and mix until almost smooth. Add the oil and blend for about 5 seconds more before serving. Enjoy!
