Even though we all know by now that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, not everyone is fond of waking up early to eat — especially on weekends when people would like a few extra hours of sleep.
Still, breakfast is one of the yummiest meals, and nothing compares to good food when you wake up. We found 7 awesome breakfast hacks that’ll make your morning much brighter.
1. Bake eggs in avocado halves
Eggs are good. Avocados are good. This healthy breakfast involves removing the pit and replacing it for an egg and baking them together. And even more, it’s an easy way to fit more avocado into your life. All you need is 2 eggs and 1 avocado. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Slice your avocado in half and remove the seed with a knife. Crack each egg into a small bowl and bake for about 15 minutes. Done! Enjoy.
2. Awesome time-saving DIY breakfast hack
Cooking can sometimes be a hassle and it takes some time. When you’re in a rush to go to work, you don’t have much time to eat your breakfast. This is so easy to make and so healthy. You’ll need the mix of fresh or frozen veggies, diced tofu, eggs, muffin pan, cooking spray or butter. Grease muffin pan with butter or cooking spray. Beat 1 egg and place in each muffin hole and stir. Add vegetables and tofu in each hole. Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for about 14 min.
3. Green smoothie kits
If you like to drink your breakfast, you’re already breaking out your blender in the mornings. You can simplify the procedure by buying your ingredients in advance and freezing them. This smoothie gives you a healthy balance of healthy fats, lean protein, and good carbs, to support sustained energy all morning. You need: 1 apple, chopped, 1 cup fresh baby spinach leaves and ¼ ripe avocado, chopped. Place your frozen ingredients in a blender with 1 cup water and blend until smooth.
4. Oatmeal breakfast hack
Making oatmeal is very easy, but let me make it even easier. With this oatmeal breakfast hack, all you must do is boil water. No recipe, no measuring. Pour dry rolled oats (not instant) into a canning jar to the halfway point. Add a handful of extras you like: flax seeds, chopped nuts or dried fruit. Pour boiling water into the jar to the bottom of the threads. Let it rest, in 15 minutes it will be ready to eat.
5. Make scrambled eggs in microwave
Did you know you can cook scrambled eggs in the microwave? Yes!! In the simplest form, coat a mug or bowl with cooking spray, crack 2 eggs, add some milk, season with salt and pepper to taste, beat with wire whisk, then microwave for 1 minute, stir and continue cooking in the microwave for another minute. Add eggs and your choice of other fillings like veggies, cheese etc.
6. No-bake-oatmeal-raisin cookie bites
These 4-ingredient energy bites take almost no time to prepare. It is recommended to eat two of them with a piece of fruit, like fresh berries or a clementine, in the morning. You need: ½ cup rolled oats, ⅓ cup maple almond butter and ½ cup raisins, chopped. In a medium bowl, stir together all ingredients. Roll into eight balls and refrigerate overnight.
7. Overnight quinoa
Like overnight oats, overnight quinoa is another amazingly healthy and tasty breakfast. To save time at night without having to make a new batch of quinoa, prepare one big batch and freeze individual servings. You need 185 grams cooked quinoa, 120 ml unsweetened almond milk and 135 grams nonfat Greek yogurt. Mix all the ingredients in a glass jar. Stir well, cover, and put in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight. The next day, remove from the fridge, top with your favorite fruit, and enjoy.
