5 Spicy Spring Breakfast Ideas

Spring just started, so we are looking forward to new breakfast ideas to make it, even more, fun and delicious.

If you’re bored with your breakfast recipes, adding a spicy kick can help keep things interesting while offering up some major health benefits. To make it more interesting, we made a list of spring and spicy, but also healthy breakfast ideas.

1. Spicy breakfast spring sandwich

Skip the fast food and make your own breakfast sandwich, with whole-wheat English muffins, tomatoes, chives and eggs.

Ingredients:

– 4 eggs
– 1/4 cup minced chives
– 1/4 cup minced parsley
– 4 whole-wheat English muffins
– 0, 5 tsp. chili powder
– 1 tomato, sliced

Instructions:

In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs. Add chives, parsley, chili powder, and stir to combine. Spray a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Put the egg mixture into skillet and cook until eggs are cooked through. Set aside. Toast English muffin. Place omelet on 1 muffin half. Top with tomato and then top with the other muffin half. Enjoy!

2. Spicy scrambled eggs

In India, this spicy scrambled eggs recipe makes a great breakfast with a stack of parathas and a dab of chili sauce.

Ingredients:

– 2 tbsp. olive oil
– 1 red onion, chopped
– 1 fresh chili pepper, chopped
– 3 tomatoes, diced
– 6 eggs
– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and cook all except eggs over medium heat, for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, beat the eggs in a bowl with the salt, and add to mixture. Cook for a few minutes more and serve warm. Enjoy your meal.

3. Spicy egg muffins

Egg muffins are ideal for a quick and spicy breakfast. With this easy to make breakfast, you get protein and veggies in the morning, which will get your day off to a good start.

Ingredients:

– 24 Egg whites
– 1 fresh chili pepper
– 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
– 2 cups fresh spinach
– 3 green onions
– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350 F. Spray a muffin tin with oil spray. Whisk the egg whites together for a few minutes in a large bowl. Stir in the rest of your ingredients. Gently divide the mixture equally between the cups. Bake for about 30 min. Remove from oven and serve warm. Enjoy.

4. Spicy tuna cakes

These tasty baked fish cakes are great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The protein-rich recipe is so healthy and easy to make.

Ingredients:

– 10 ounces canned tuna, drained
– Olive oil
– Finely grated zest from ½ medium lemon
– 1⅓ cup mashed baked sweet potato
– ½ tsp. red pepper flakes
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 eggs
– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Use a brush to grease a 12-cup sized muffin tin with olive oil. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together and gently combine. Scoop ¼ cup of the mixture into each greased muffin tin cup. Bake for 30 minutes, and serve warm. Bon appetit.

5. Spicy sriracha avocado toast

Avocado toast has become lately an easy, healthy, and satisfying breakfast option. If you want to change your breakfast routine, add a drizzle of spicy sriracha sauce to the avocado toast.

Ingredients:

– 2 eggs, hard-boiled
– 1 peeled and diced avocado
– 1 tsp. lemon juice
– 1/8 tsp. salt
– Sriracha sauce
– 2 slices pumpernickel, or multi-grain bread

Instructions:

Scoop the avocado into a small bowl. Use a fork to mash it, and then stir in lemon juice and salt. In another small bowl, mash the egg into small pieces. Spread each slice of bread with half of the avocado mixture, then half of the egg mixture. Top with a drizzle of sriracha. Serve and enjoy!
